Louise Littmann and Markus Mohanty were in luck when they decided to hire an open topped double decker bus for their wedding day. The sun shined all day for the black tie clad guests as the Routemaster ferried them to Louise and Markus’s wedding reception.
Mayfair photographer S.C. was asked to shoot this very city chic wedding, ‘In photographic terms, Louise and Markus asked me for original shots, edgy studies of the environment, with a feeling of ‘realness,’ nothing posed or staged.’

Preparations got off to a start at Bermondsey Square hotel, the first boutique hotel in Bermondsey, described as, ‘the epitome of designer chic, in a sixties kind of way.’ Later, Louise hosted the bridal wedding breakfast at the Garrison Hotel. Located in SE1, the Garrison Hotel is a bright buzzy gastro-pub with shabby chic interiors and a quirky down to earth attitude. Oysters and Guinness were favoured by the boys at nearby Wright Brothers Oyster Bar. S.C. commented that ‘All of these locations offered up ample opportunities to create images to reflect the original brief.’
The civil ceremony took place at The Deck, a breath taking venue on the roof of the National Theatre. Over looking the Thames above London’s vibrant South Bank, the fresh modern architecture and the skyline of London creates the perfect backdrop for photographs. S.C. mused, ‘Translucent materials have been used in the structure that let through the natural daylight, and the glazed walls are retractable, making it a brilliant place in which to shoot.’
The open topped bus transported excited guests to the reception, giving them further opportunity to take in the sights of London on such a beautiful day in the city. The reception at Brasa in the Fulham Road was yet another unique photographic opportunity; Brasa is set in an architectural gem of a building dating back to the 17th century. S.C. couldn’t have asked for better conditions that day, ‘With lots of worn leather in deep colours and aged brick, the atmosphere generated is warm and engaging, which perfectly sums of Louise and Markus and their special day.’
